It's been nearly a year since I made it to the retention pond, because of Helen the Arthritic Hip. Now Titanium Hippolyta has restored my walk. Monday's feat.
And to prove it and celebrate
This was probably a half hour plus round trip walk on rough ground. And this is what I planned on, through the prep and exercise, to get to this point. Hippolyta was a bit tired, nothing more. We got this!
Happy day everyone! Mine certainly is. Immediate Monday plans: coffee, lunch, read on deck probably becoming nap on deck.
That is great. Congratulations and enjoy your deck time!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it feels good.
DeleteFantastic. Goal achieved - what goal next?
ReplyDeleteFirst enjoy where I am. Then think about more.
DeleteDare one say...Hip Hip Hooray?!
ReplyDeleteYou can certainly say that! I wish I'd thought of it.
DeleteWonderful! How satisfying. You earned that rest.
ReplyDeleteI feel as if the world is back on its axis now.
DeleteThat is a victory. 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you, that's how it feels.
DeleteAnother milestone achieved! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to see not just maintenance but improvement.
DeleteYay, Boud! Well done! Frogs and turtles on the way!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to more trips. Back to the preserve, too
DeleteGood for you! One really nice thing about having the fosterdog here was walking early in the morning and late in the evening - things I haven't done since losing Piper.
ReplyDeleteYes, that reason for walking! I didn't know you'd fostered a dog. Lucky dog.
DeleteWell done. It's so pleasing to accomplish your objectives.
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes, just that.
DeleteYou should be damn proud of yourself. Modern medicine gets a lot of credit, of course, but without all of your preparation and follow-up PT, you would not be walking to that pond. You're back!
ReplyDeleteIt worked out as hoped. Nice when that happens.
DeleteCongratulations! Good for you! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBowing, waving to cheering crowds!
DeleteCongratulations! This is fantastic and yes you should be proud of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly happy. You're generous to be happy for me, too.
DeleteHooray for the pond view!! It's amazing how fast you've recovered. Funny you should note the carolina wren song because I heard one just yesterday. I wonder fi they will nest in the tree outside our window like they've done the past couple of years.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do. They're interesting neighbors. It was thrilling to see the pond again.
DeleteSo beautiful!!! That was a great goal to reach!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a reward, to see water!
DeleteCongratulations! Great achievement!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It does feel good.
DeleteYay! So glad you conquered the journey to the pond!
ReplyDeleteIt's getting back to normal now.
DeleteMarvelous, Liz! I've seen your mentions of the pond, but I only started reading your blog in the autumn, so I hadn't read of those voyages until today. I'm very happy for you! Here's my electronic high-five: iIIII (that's my thumb and four other fingers)
ReplyDeleteThank you! The pond is a tiny area but it's huge in interest as a destination
DeleteStanding ovation!!! Birds have just started up here - and I am off to yoga in 20 so actually doing something other than working and sleeping today.
ReplyDeleteYoga sounds good.
DeleteOh very well done.
ReplyDeleteI think your plans of reading and napping are the best
Ideas to end a goal achievement day
I think the napping is inevitable!
DeleteNice day for a walk, even if it's a titanium one.
ReplyDeleteBetter than the previous setup! No pain.
ReplyDeleteGetting there is vengeance. Getting home again is relief.
ReplyDeleteDifferent levels of fun!
DeleteYou are amazing! Well done -- this couldn't be better!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it good? I'm so pleased.

ReplyDeleteBelieve me. I understand the thrill. Congratulations!
Debby, I can't access your link, but I'm publishing in case anyone else can.
DeleteAnd, yes, another replacee can definitely understand. Such a renewal.
Remember, long ago, Vangelis' Chariots of Fire theme? I was walking the other day, and feeling all happy about it. That popped into my head and it gave me a giggle. Contrast young fit men running to the song, and a gray haired woman walking (albeit at a good clip) to it.
DeleteOh, thank you! I'll look it up!
